最近のMAZDAの車の美しさには眼を見張るものがある。人の手によって生み出される生命力を造形の美しさに込め、技術と情熱を内包するマツダの車作り。モーターショーという展示ブースに、敢えて建築らしさを出すことで「永遠の本物」を印象づけた。車の置かれている床の部分に艶のある黒い素材を円形に用いることで、凛とした水盤に車が浮かび上がるようイメージ付け、水盤に沿って歩いていくとカウンターまで導かれる。マツダのデザイン力、その躍動感を引き立たせるため、引算のデザインを用いることでミニマルな和の空気感を創出し、静かでありながら圧倒的な存在感を映し出した。
Recently, MAZDA cars are a beauty to behold.Cars made by MAZDA come from the creative power of many hands that work strenuously with passion and technology. At the Tokyo Motor Show, we ventured to create an architecture-like exhibition space with a likeness of an "eternal object." The cars stand on a black, reflective surface. Its round edges give it a refined, fluid-like appearance on which cars seem float upon. Walking along this curved path, you find the information counter. To bring out MAZDA's design power and energy, the booth is subtractive and minimum. The exhibit has a Japanese sensibility that creates a quiet atmosphere where even one's own existence feels overpowering.
